Welcome to the First Gen Forum

What We Wish Decision Makers Knew

Behind every first-generation student's journey is a story of resilience, determination, and untapped potential. This video shares the voices of first-generation college students as they speak directly to the educators, institutional leaders, policymakers, and other decision makers whose choices shape the first-generation student experience.

Who
we are

The First-Generation Forum is a community dedicated to supporting and empowering first-generation college students. At its heart, the Forum is a place where first-generation students can connect with one another, share their stories and experiences, build meaningful relationships, and discover resources that foster both personal and academic success.

The Forum also serves as a hub for learning and collaboration among education leaders, administrators, practitioners, and policymakers. By providing opportunities for education and dialogue, we seek to deepen understanding of the first-generation student experience and promote strategies that strengthen student success.

Together, we are building a community where first-generation students are seen, heard, and supported, while equipping decision-makers with the knowledge and tools to create more equitable and effective educational environments.
